Visual images on left side of poster are illustrations of diseases resulting from vitamin deficiency including a child with a blind eye, a man with cramps or spasms in his lower legs (beriberi), a leg and gums beset with sores (scurvy), two infants with deformed legs (rickets), a male-female couple gazing upward toward a baby's face (sterility), and a woman covered with scaly skin (pellagra).
