Note (General):
Picture caption: Col. E. H. Qualls, Washington, D.C., pins the Purple Heart medal on T/4 George Falson for injuries he received in the bombing of St. Lazare. Falson enlisted in the American army in Casablanca in 1942, and was given the oath of allegiance by the vice-consul of the American Embassy in Paris on the same day he received the Purple Heart. Paris, France.
Note (General):
Picture caption stamped on verso. The phrase "for injuries he received in the bombing of St. Lazare" and the word "Paris" are crossed out in blue pencil. The Gare St. Lazare was bombed on December 26, 1944. The photograph is stamp dated "9 Jan. (?)."
