Note (General):
|
Picture caption: Frostbite cases at Percy Jones Army Hospital are kept strictly in bed for rest in the early phases of treatment. Their frostbitten limbs are kept exposed at room temperature. Keeping the legs horizontal tends to speed circulation. Walking is likely to cause more damage to the injured tissues. From right to left are Pfc. Louis Bringwald of Vincinnes Indiana and the 7th Division; Pvt. Rollo Ballance of Kenly, North Carolina and the 7th Division; and Pvt. Norman C. Mobley, 477 W. 149 St., New York City, New York, who served with the 2nd Division in Korea. All three of these soldiers got their feet frostbitten in November in Korea, and were flown directly to Percy Jones from Osaka, Japan, for continuing treatment. They are now well on the mend. Private Ballance is listening to a broadcast from the Armed Forces Radio Station at Percy Jones.
