Image Description:
Subject: A row of approximately two dozen indigenous men stand in a line next to a row of huts. The men are in their bare feet and wear only shorts or wraps around their waists. One of the servicemen sits at a table at the head of the line and takes notes, while the other four servicemen either stand or confer with the men.
Note (General):
Picture caption: Whether it be a native village or a native labor camp, as in this case, near a military base, it is important to know the index of malaria infection. Here we have the district malariologist, Capt. Louis E. Schopick, conferring with Lt. Kenneth McKenzie, British Officer. A native laborer awaits to have his name checked, as Capt. Monroe Vincent, parasitologist, and two assistants are taking blood specimens. South Pacific Area, Gaudalcanal, 8/44.
