Donald Whedon, Richard Krause, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Donald S. Fredrickson, director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Ruth Kirschstein, director of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, and Donald B.Tower, director of the National Institute for Neurological and Communicative Disorders and Stroke. They are participating in the Senate's labor and health appropriations subcommitte hearing. People are sitting against the walls. Two chandeliers are above the table. There are pitchers and water glasses on the table as well as open looseleaf notebooks and fiscal year 1979 spiral bound documents. The walls are ornate with wall hangings of angels and women over and around the doorways.
