The text on the poster gives the highlights of Dr. Koop's career: establishing pediatric surgery as a specialty; developing surgical techniques for the correction of congenital defects; the separation of Siamese twins; and as the U.S. Surgeon General he educated the American public about issues such as AIDS, the dangers of smoking, and the need for physical fitness.
